Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Family Support Worker to join our team. This unique role involves providing invaluable assistance to social workers in completing visits to families and observing children in various settings. The successful candidate will also be responsible for recording essential information on the child's file using our electronic system, Liquid Logic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support social workers during visits to families and observations of children.
- Record information accurately on the child's file using Liquid Logic.
- Work 3 days a week alongside social workers in the office (days to be confirmed).
- Demonstrate knowledge of social work roles and responsibilities.
- Utilize good IT literacy skills to navigate electronic systems effectively.
Primary Duties:
- Provide a broad range of services aimed at supporting families, improving family relationships, and parenting skills.
- Promote positive and healthy outcomes for children and young people.
- Ensure safeguarding measures are implemented at all times.
Job Context:
- Reports to Advanced Practitioner/Senior Practitioner/Practice Manager/Team Manager.
- May have line management responsibility for staff supervisions according to their grade and current team.
- Occasionally required to work outside 'normal' office hours.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience working with children and families in either the public or voluntary sector.
- Demonstrated experience in effective partnership or cross-sector, multi-agency work.
- Familiarity with delivering practical parenting tasks and parenting programs.
- Ability to prepare reports and assessments, including presenting to Court.
- Experience in contact work.
Qualifications:
- GCSE grade 'C' (or equivalent) or above in English and Mathematics.
- Relevant practice qualification in childcare, education, health, or social care (e.g., NVQ 3 or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with young children and families.
- Additional qualifications/training in specialist areas (e.g., Makaton signing, Braille).
- Qualification in First Aid or willingness to acquire the qualification.
Hours: Part-Time, 3 days per week (21.6 hours). Days to be determined.
Salary: £20.09 per hour, dependent on experience
