Field Sales Executive – Fire Safety

Portable lithium ion batteries such as those used in power tools, garden equipment, e bikes, e-scooters, drones and warehouse equipment are increasingly causing fires. Burton Security has recently become the exclusive UK distributor for Batteryguard, Europe’s leading brand of safety storage cabinets for portable lithium batteries. These cabinets will be amongst the first to market that meet a brand new European safety standard for the safe storage and charging of these batteries.    

We aim to be pioneers in this new and exciting market, and ultimately market leaders in this sector. As a result we are looking for a dedicated salesperson to help both inform and educate the market on the solutions available and to find direct customers and distributors.   

You’ll need a UK driving licence, a professional manner and plenty of confidence. Ideally you will have a 2-5 years of prior sales experience, however, we will also consider applications from graduates with a minimum 2:1 degree and enthusiasm for sales.

You will need good research and presentation skills in order to make contact with and educate relevant stakeholders within the insurance, fire service and health & safety industries. You will also need to be good at cold calling and selling to help us find new distributors and larger direct end users for the product.  

You’ll be working 2 days in the office and spend 3 days each week visiting clients.

Burton Security is a £7m business with around 40 employees, based near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. We specialise in the manufacture, distribution, installation and servicing of physical security products. With this new venture, we are now ready to branch out further into FIRE SAFETY storage.  

Whilst we are a small business, this is a big role with plenty of room to evolve and grow if you are successful. One of the current owners started out as a graduate sales representative with Burton Safes in a similar role over 20 years ago. With hard work, good ethics and a little intelligence you can make a success of this role and develop it into a full business unit of its own.
