Field Service Engineer

Field Service Engineer Job Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the Field Service Engineer is to provide exceptional aftersales product support for our range of commercial EV's. This includes servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and timely resolutions to the highest standards in line with our product support policies and terms and conditions of supply. The role may require occasional travel and training at our production facility in Sherburn in Elmet.

Field Service Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance, inspections, fault diagnostics, and repairs of our PSV fleet at customer premises and, if needed, at our service centre.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, our call centre, and parts staff to report defects and order necessary spares to ensure timely job completion.
  • Provide legible and accurate job write-ups and reports, obtaining authorisation and signature from authorised depot staff before leaving the site.
  • Participate in product training as and when required.
  • Always observe health and safety guidelines, being aware of surroundings and local engineering requirements.
  • Assist customers with servicing and repairs to improve their product knowledge.

Field Service Engineer Essential Requirements:

  • Full driving licence.
  • Minimum City & Guilds level 3 vehicle maintenance or equivalent.
  • Excellent electrical and computer-based diagnostic skills.
  • EV or Hybrid competence, including HV training in relation to high voltage DC electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions.
  • Good level of English language (written and spoken).

Field Service Engineer Desirable Requirements:

  • PSV License
  • Current CPC.
