Finance and Business Support Officer

Can you take an active role in ensuring the effective day to day running of Finance and administrative functions within the Adult Social Care Commissioning Division? 

Are you someone who is seeking a varied role which combines the delivery of high quality administrative support for key strategic commissioning meetings with managing and tracking payments of invoices for specific services?

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled administrator with a good knowledge of Finance and Business Support functions and a strong attention for detail to join our innovative and high performing commissioning division who play a central role in achieving positive outcomes for adults in our boroughs.

About the team

You will be joining a motivated, energetic, friendly and supportive Business Insights and Projects team that is committed to promoting the use of intelligence and insights to drive innovation and best practice in commissioning. The team comprises of the Finance and Business Support Officer, two Policy and Projects Officers and one Data Analyst. 
 
 About the role

Bringing high quality and effective Finance and administrative support to the commissioning division, you will be responsible for:

  • Effective management of the payment of invoices for sexual health and substance misuse services 
  • Raising of purchase orders in a timely manner
  • Contributing to spend projections for substance misuse grants and supporting year- end reconciliation
  • Organising and minuting of key strategic meetings, including fortnightly Commissioning Board meetings, and maintaining efficient communication with all stakeholders
  • Reporting to the Senior Commissioning Manager for the Business Insights and Projects Team, you will have a varied role working on your own initiative in a supportive and learning environment. You will also report to the Senior Commissioning Manager for Prevention and Wellbeing - Universal Services. 

To be shortlisted you will need to demonstrate

  • Experience of financial systems, invoice payments and IT packages
  • Experience of taking minutes of meetings and providing administrative support 
  • Good oral and written skills
  • Methodical approach and eye for detail
