CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. The role will be directly responsible for the UK & Ireland, which are our largest countries in the EMEA portfolio. The individual will manage financial reporting and processes for both the client and CBRE, including (but not limited to) month-end management reporting, client reporting, monthly forecasting, annual budget preparation and special projects. Ensure sound financial support is provided to the client, client account leaders and respective business line leaders. Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to for both internal and client financial reporting, and that all deadlines are met.


Key Responsibilities:


CBRE Finance Support

  • Managing month end activities, ensure correct UER/UBR/accruals are in place with CBRE monthly accounts (preparation, review & approval).
  • P&L reporting, review & reconciliation for bottom line result.
  • P&L variance analysis, bridges & reporting
  • Review the numbers with the site facility managers and coordinators.
  • TWC management and improvement.
  • Managing the contract baseline, including assisting in prompt contract variation completion.
  • Extracting open Client PO’s and collecting information on invoicing including In Scope and Non-Controllable elements.
  • Reconciliation of Labour & 3rd party costs.
  • Reviewing open POs (cost accruals with local Contract Support) to develop a positive trend in closing this off.
  • Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations for serviced countries.
  • Intercompany transactions – consolidation data and follow up.
  • S1/O1 document management & ownership.
  • Introduce & improve internal controls.
  • Process alignment, improvement & simplification

Client Finance Support

  • Delivering month-end reporting with the break-down of InScope, Reactive, Labour and non-Controllable elements.
  • Country & regional meeting and presentations with the client for UK & Ireland.
  • FM budget & outlook/forecast review & reporting.
  • Quarterly Business Reporting– consolidated excel data preparation.
  • Saving glide path and drive cost saving initiatives.
  • Attend to adhoc enquiries & analysis.

Requirements:

  • 5 years management accounting experience in similar role.
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or similar.
  • Managerial skills (currently 5 direct reports)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy/ Finance or Professional Accounting/ Finance qualification
  • Analytical skills and high level of accuracy
  • Ensuring full audit trail of all financial transactions including SOX compliance requirements
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office & PeopleSoft.
  • Ability to confidently work through problems and identify solutions/recommendations that have direct impact on operations.
  • Managing performance against KPIs.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work to clearly defined deadlines.
  • Multi-task on projects to meet deadlines, attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, requiring minimal supervisions when appropriated, and effectively in a complex environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university in a business related field. Requires a minimum of six years related experience to include at least two years in a lead or supervisory capacity. Public accounting experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
CPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred, but not required (depending on experience).
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to apply excellent written and verbal communication skills to accurately explain/report activity. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues and work collaboratively with business partners, key employees, top management, and client groups on various projects.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), concepts. SEC reporting experience desired (depending on the specific finance role).
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex financial information and transactions and accounting principles. Ability to independently research complex accounting transactions/issues. Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working as a team. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Strong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.). Broad experience with other software and financial systems is desired such as HFM Consolidation, PeopleSoft Financials and Cognos Planning. Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology is helpful. Strong work ethic and adaptable.

Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
