Salary A new role as a tax assistant has arisen for a premium clothing brand in their head office based in East London. The brand is widely known for its modern clothing with an attention to quality and design.
This is a temporary role and would require the chosen candidate to be immediately available.
What you’ll be working on:
- Preparing UK and EU VAT returns, including downloading and analysing source data and ensuring transactions are reported correctly in each country.
- Preparing other periodic filings including Intrastat returns, EC Sales Lists and Plastic Packaging Tax returns.
- Ensuring VAT payments are made in a timely manner.
- Helping prepare data and information to respond to queries from auditors where required.
- Involvement in VAT compliance optimisation projects, collaborating with our Tax and IT colleagues based in the US to automate processes and respond to changes in digital reporting requirements.
Who you are:
- A positive, proactive attitude to learning, solving problems and working as a team.
- Willingness to learn about VAT and other finance areas and apply these to your day-to-day role.
- Great organisation skills.
- The ability to prioritise to meet tight deadlines.
- The ambition to pursue a career in finance.
- Proficient MS Excel Skills and similar level for other MS programs such as Outlook, Word etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
