Job Title: Finance Assistant (Accounts Payable)
Salary: £24,000 -£28,000
37.5 Hours a week 8:30am-5pm Monday - Friday (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Our client is looking for a Finance assistant to join them on a permanent basis in Letchworth Garden city. In this position you will be working in Accounts Payable, supporting the finance team and reporting to the Finance Director.
This position is ideal for someone who is AAT qualified or currently studying for a finance or accounting related qualification.
You will need to have experience in Accounts Payable, double-entry bookkeeping as well as supplier payments and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Online banking and cash management
• Process and match supplier invoices to purchase orders & stock receipts
• Manage and correct pricing issues and shortages
• Prepare weekly supplier payment runs and send remittances to suppliers
• Foreign currency supplier payments
• Cash payment postings to the purchase ledger
• Process staff expenses and corporate credit card claims
• Maintain supplier accounts and create new suppliers
• Produce aged creditors report on monthly basis and prepare statement reconciliations
• Respond to queries both internal and external in a timely manner
• Provide support to the line manager and wider team to improve process and efficiencies
• Provide holiday cover to accounts receivable (adhoc)
• Ad hoc tasks to ensure finance department runs smoothly
Experience and skills:
• AAT qualified or studying towards a qualification - preferred
• At least 3 years Accounts Payable experience - essential
• Knowledge of AP and balance sheet reconciliations - essential
• Good knowledge in MS Excel, Word and accounting software - essential
• Experience in Sage X3 software - desirable
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver to deadlines
• Well organised and able to prioritise with high attention to detail and level of accuracy
• Ability to establish and maintain good business relationships, internally and externally
• Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work collaboratively
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and positive
