We're currently recruiting a dedicated Finance Assistant to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Healthcare on a full time basis, contracted to 40 hours per week.As a Finance Assistant, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of quality work. Working as part of the Medirest Finance team based onsite at Darent Valley Hospital delivering financial and commercial support to the Business sector. Here's what you need to know before applying:Your key responsibilities will include:Help to business partner key stakeholders (financial and non-financial) ensuring strong commercial and operational decision making, managing financial risks and opportunitiesAid in delivering proactive ad-hoc financial analysis to support business unit decision makingUnderstand and manage the financial risks and opportunities arising from volumetric and other contract mechanisms - and ongoing business performanceUnderstand and highlight the financial risks and opportunities arising from balance sheet maintenanceHelp prepare key business reporting such as month end reports, business reviews, client reports, budgets, cash analysis and other ad-hoc analysis to be discussed at monthly review.Monthly balance sheet review for area of responsibility, escalating key risks/ opportunities to senior stakeholders.Support closing monthly accounts ensuring sales and costs are accurately and appropriately recognised.Promote working capital improvements through timely, accurate contract billing, active management of debt ledgers and timely resolution of queriesSupport with the budgeting and forecasting process by consolidating the budget, understanding variances and preparing the budget presentation for senior stakeholdersSupport with completion of documentation for client tenders, negotiations and capital expenditure appraisalsSupport operational teams with understanding actions required on mobilisation and ensure that these are executed in line with timetableYou will ensure health and safety of all colleagues within the business and report any incidents via the approved company processesReponsibility 2Our ideal Finance Assistant will:Finance graduate or with some experience in accounting rolesDemonstrate passion for Finance and an understanding of management accountingAnalytical and with a high level of attention to detail Ability to adapt to a changing environmentGood knowledge of ExcelExperience of SAP and Cognos as analysis and reporting toolsConsidering or actively studying Accountant in CIMA/ACCA/ACA or the like Part of Compass Group UK&I, Medirest is the specialist healthcare operating company of Compass Group UK & Ireland, providing a full range of hotel services, including staff, patient and visitor catering, domestics, portering, security and reception, at over 130 NHS Trusts and private hospitals.Job Reference: com/1101/99320001/52465222/ONEWJCompass Group UK&I wants everyone in our business to feel able to be themselves at work and to have an equal opportunity to progress their career.
