My client based in Reading is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team. They will consider candidates seeing either full time or part time work. You will need to be able to commit to 25 hours - 37.5 hours and work Monday to Friday each week. The role will be hybrid working.
The Finance Assistant plays a vital role in the Finance team with your main responsibilities including producing invoices via internal reports, posting supplier invoices agreeing to Purchase Orders, answering supplier and customer incoming telephone calls and correspondence via email, liaising with other teams and external customers re credits and queries on sales invoices, dealing with supplier payment enquiries, raising manual invoices and credits as necessary, setting up Customer Accounts on Access Supply Chain, and reconciling supplier invoices This is a responsible position which requires a positive attitude, a conscientious approach, and respect of confidentiality.
The work day can be very varied and you’ll need to have a flexible, proactive approach to your work.
- You’ll be highly competent in credit control as well as Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, as well as have accurate and meticulous data entry skills
- You’ll need to be self-motivated, highly organised with the ability to follow multiple processes, tasks and instructions quickly and accurately
- You’ll display great attention to detail, high standards and a sense of pride, resulting in a job well done
- You’ll be an effective communicator, able to work on your own or part of a collaborative busy team
- It’s essential that you have excellent numeric and literacy skills, evidence of dealing with incoming customer calls, written customer enquiries, and customer/supplier complaints both in writing and verbally
- You need to be punctual and reliable as well as computer literate i.e. well versed in Bankline and ideally Access Supply Chain (or alternatively another general finance software), use Microsoft Excel to input data / retrieve / collate info, Microsoft Word to create documents and tables, and communicate using Microsoft Outlook
