Job Details:
- Role: Finance Assistant
- Located: Bedford
- Contract: 3 month initial
- £13.24p/h
- Part Time 30hrs
- Mon-Fri Office Based
• Support the day-to-day management and processing of petty cash, accounts payable invoices, raising accounts receivable invoices, reimbursement claims, rail warrants, admin records/procedures and respond to other queries arising, including recommending improvements in processes.
• Process all income and expenditure in accordance with the financial procedure manual, by assisting with the accurate processing of sales invoices, credit control and banking of income to ensure compliance with the Authority’s procedures and policies.
• To collate information from a number of sources in order to help with the preparation of statistics for financial performance indicators.
• Assist with the production of statutory returns as directed by the Principal Finance Officers in line with statutory deadlines including year-end tasks in order to ensure closure of accounts in line with internal and external deadlines.
• Conduct monthly ledger reconciliations as directed by Principal Finance Officers and maintain Microsoft Excel spread sheets on a regular basis in line with policies and procedures.
Experience Experience
Knowledge and experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Previous use of computer/office automation systems including use of Microsoft software packages including Excel and Outlook.
Experience of processing petty cash claims ideal
A knowledge and understanding of the rules surrounding input and output VAT.
Experience of providing advice to senior employees across an organisation.
Experience of completing control account reconciliations.
