An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and well organised Finance Assistant who can assist with the smooth running of the school's financial management under the guidance of the School Business Manager. The Finance Assistant will join a friendly administration team that works hard together to provide an effective and efficient support service to all stakeholders of the school.
School Finance Assistant summary:
- Salary £25,000-£30,000
- Management of the purchase ordering within the academies finance system including authorisation and coding.
- Management of purchase invoices and staff expenses within the academies finance system, dealing with all invoice queries, deliveries as appropriate and supplier statements.
- Raising BACS for purchase invoices and staff expenses and completing BACs run.
- Ensuring all relevant academy bank reconciliations are processed on a weekly basis and monthly basis via journals onto the accounting system.
- Manage all credit card payments, after obtaining authorisation as appropriate including posting of costs into the finance system.
- Reconciling the petty cash on a weekly, monthly basis onto the finance system and process Academy banking for cash and cheques where necessary.
- Processing of bursary claims into the finance system and completion of bursary spend tracker monthly.
- Raising of Sales and Inter-company Invoices, ensuring the collection on all Sales revenue are received in a timely manner.
- Liaise with cost centre budget holders in respect of their monitoring and reporting procedures on a monthly basis.
- Manage Parent Pay system, including all queries, student debtors, activation letters including student and staff imports from Bromcom.
- Provide finance reports in relation to peripatetic Music tuition, Curriculum consumables being sold to Students including Trips reporting via Parentpay.
- Reading and understanding the Academies Financial handbook and the Federation Scheme of Delegation to ensure the Academy is compliant.
- Overseeing the contracts register at the Academy, ensuring all information is kept up to date.
- Working with the Federation Business Partner when contracts are due for renewal and ascertain value for money and quality of service are in line with expectations.
- Working with Federation Business Partner and Principal in understanding priorities for expenditure and promoting effective spend of resources and ensuring value for money.
- Assisting Finance Business Partner with internal and external audit requirements.
