We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a proven track record of working on finance SaaS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) projects to join our client on an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension.
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of finance and accounting processes, combined with strong analytical and communication skills. You will be comfortable with operating semi-independently and being able to proactively deliver the necessary deliverables and outcomes, liaising with other team members, vendors, and Finance SMEs where necessary. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring the successful implementation and optimization of our finance system.
The main purpose of this role:
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating effective communication, managing expectations, and addressing concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing finance processes, identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and recommend solutions that align with industry best practices and the capabilities of the SaaS ERP system.
- Support the development of as is and to be finance processes, working with other BAs, functional leads, and Finance team SMEs.
- Create comprehensive, clear, and concise requirement documentation, including business process flows, use cases, user stories, functional and non-functional specifications, and other artifacts necessary for development and implementation.
- Support the completion of reporting catalogue content, and engage with report developers to enable accurate report development and appropriate customization.
- Conduct testing of the ERP system to validate that it meets defined requirements and functions as expected. Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve any issues or defects.
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure user-friendly interfaces that align with both business needs and best design practices.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, and sprint reviews to provide insights and clarification on business requirements, as well as address any questions or concerns from development teams.
- Assist in user training and provide ongoing support to the user base, during the post-implementation phase, ensuring a smooth transition to the new system and addressing any concerns that arise.
Required skills & experience:
- 5+ years working in a Finance BA role on Finance system implementation/replatforming (ideally with Microsoft D365 experience)
- Clear understanding of finance teams, roles, business processes, and ways of working.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of change.
- Able to navigate a degree of ambiguity.
- Keen to collaborate with others, knowing that the best results come from pooling ideas, experience and expertise.
- Focused on problem solving - able to recognise how issues and challenges have come about, but more interested in solving them than admiring the problem.
- Owning, creating, and improving business analysis processes to support the development of Baringa’s capabilities.
- Experience working in a broad range of IT and business projects throughout the project lifecycle, with understanding of project management practices.
- Ideally specific training and qualification(s) in Business Analysis
