Finance Director

Parkinson Lee Executive Search are working exclusively with a leading retailer in the Yorkshire area in the appointment of a Finance Director.

The Finance Director will be responsible for the overall financial management of the company, leading the finance team you drive profitability and support the overall strategic goals of the company. This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in the retail industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead a business through a period of transformation.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing the Finance functions to deliver the company growth strategy
• Developing and leading a turnaround plan to drive the company’s profitability through improved sales, increased profit margins, and reduced operating costs
• Providing detailed management and financial information to drive business-changing decisions
• Overseeing the acquisition and integration of foreign subsidiaries, to open new revenue streams
• Developing and managing annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
• Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement
• Providing strategic financial insights to support business decision-making
• Overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and statutory filings
• Presenting financial results and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
• Implementing strategies to optimise working capital and manage debt
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and effectiveness
• Identifying financial risks and developing mitigation strategies
• Ensuring robust internal controls are in place and regularly reviewed
• Leading and mentoring the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and investors
• Acting as a key point of contact for financial matters within the organisation

Parkinson Lee Executive Search are keen to speak to Finance professionals that can demonstrate the below experience:

• Proven track record in a senior financial leadership role within the retail industry – preferable fashion & apparel
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
• Demonstrated ability to drive business turnaround and lead successful change management initiatives
• Experience in leading acquisition and integration of subsidiaries
• Opportunity to influence and shape the future direction of a major international retailer
• Strong understanding of retail financial dynamics, including inventory management, cost control, and margin analysis
• Proficient in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP, BI tools)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-oriented
