You will report to the Owners and be the key member of the leadership team.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading, building and shaping the finance team providing accurate and timely financial information, including high quality analysis, insight and robust reporting of business & financial performance.
- Leading the continuous improvement of finance processes and financial awareness across the businesses
- Providing finance support for strategic projects and longer term planning
- Playing an active role in improving ways of working across finance
- Taking a key role in developing the people capabilities of the Finance function and wider finance team
The experience and profile required
- A University degree and/or professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with supporting professional experience.
- A strong understanding of Consumer Brands, Retail and International sales and business
- Minimum of 7 years’ post qualified experience ideally gained in an Consumer or Retail environment
- Several years senior finance experience with a track record of adding value through analysis and understanding of the P&L
- Ability to support decision making at a strategic level when required but also be able to understand and engage at a detailed level when necessary.
- Proven track record of effectively supporting and influencing stakeholders and providing a full ‘business partnering service’.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders to gather data, disseminate insights and manage requests
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to present findings in a clear and impactful manner
- Highly organised multi-tasker who is capable of planning and organising a number of priorities
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Confidence to challenge and investigate performance in a supportive manner
- A self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a “can do” approach
- Keen focus on continuous improvement and innovation
- Able to lead and execute projects and to drive change
- Strong leader both of direct team and across peer group (finance and non-finance)
- Track record of people development
