Finance Director - Nottingham - c£100k + car allowance + benefits - Hybrid working
Alexander Daniels have been exclusively engaged by a leading business based in Nottingham to help them recruit an experienced Finance Director.
The Finance Director will work closely with the Group COO and will be instrumental in building and leading the global finance team. The Finance Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the business and be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organisation, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Your strategic financial insights will guide decision-making and drive the achievement of our long-term financial goals.
The Finance Directors Key Responsibilities will include:
- Financial Strategy: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives.
- Group Structuring: Work with external advisers to optimise Group structure.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial reports to senior management.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
- Capital Management: Manage the company's capital structure, optimising the balance between debt and equity to support growth and profitability.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements and reports to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and support day-to-day operations.
- M&A and strategic investments: Lead financial due diligence and integration processes for potential mergers, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships.
- Cost Management: Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
- Financial Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and financial institutions.
To be considered for the Finance Director position you must have the following:
- Bachelor's degree; ACA or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior financial leadership role.
- Experience in building new finance teams and structures in the UK and Internationally
- Broking / trading experience will be a distinct advantage, but not required.
- Strong understanding of financial management, risk assessment, and strategic planning.
- Strong leadership, business partnering and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
