Based in Stoke-on-Trent this well-established manufacturing and distribution business has a long history within its specialist manufacturing field as their level of expertise is unparalleled. The business continues to grow and develop within their sector, with a group turnover of £55 million, they are leading the way in their industry, consistently introducing innovative new products.
As the Finance Director, you will be working closely with the MD and operate as one of the senior leadership team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of this group of companies and be instrumental in guiding financial decisions and maximising business profitability.
With a proven track record of optimising financial performance, you will advise on key aspects of financial performance, business and commercial risks, strategy, and investment decisions, as well as ensure that the group complies with legal, financial, and statutory regulations.

What we need from you?

• Management of the Finance team.
• Overseeing the production of the monthly group management accounts.
• Analyse and report significant variances from budget in the accounts for senior executives.
• Production of monthly cash flow forecasts, long-term forecasting, and budgeting.
• Production of the quarterly Group consolidated accounts.
• FX risk and strategy.
• Liaise with Auditors regarding the statutory accounts and tax computations.
• Report to monthly group executive meetings on the financial performance of the group.
• Arrange insurance policies and manage any statutory declarations and returns.
• Produce ad hoc reports for senior executives to assist them in analysing the company's performance and to support them in improving the business.

What you need to succeed?

• Qualified Accountant and a member of one of the principal UK accounting institutes.
• Strong leadership and development skills to support the growth of the team.
• Experience of Group consolidations with overseas subsidiaries.
• Flexible and adaptable in your approach, with the confidence to challenge where necessary.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial results to non-financial managers.
• Advanced Excel skills (systems currently used Opera, Prof.IT, and Microsoft Office).
