We're more than just a leading manufacturer of convenience food in the UK; we're on a mission to make everyday taste better for consumers across the country.

We supply major supermarkets, convenience stores, travel retail outlets and more with a wide range of food products (from sandwiches, sushi and ready meals to chilled soups and frozen Yorkshire Puddings).

In FY22 we manufactured 795m sandwiches and other food to go products, 127m chilled prepared meals, 249m bottles of cooking sauces, pickles, and condiments and 47m of chilled soups and sauces. We carry out more than 10,600 direct to store deliveries each day. We have 16 world-class manufacturing and 18 distribution centres in the UK, with industry-leading technology and supply chain capabilities. We generated revenues of £1.7bn in FY22 and employ more than 14,000 people.

We're looking for our next generation of graduates to develop and grow a finance career with Greencore. You will provide financial support to our many sites while developing your skills in key aspects of the finance function. You will have the opportunity to gain experience across several locations and become a multi-skilled finance professional, with experience in a breadth of environments.

Our Finance Graduate programme is designed to help you reach your potential and build a rewarding finance career in the food manufacturing industry.

This 3-year programme will support you to gain an accountancy qualification which aligns to real work opportunities to become an integral part of our Finance function. You will complete your CIMA qualifications as part of the Level 7 Accountancy and Taxation Professional Apprenticeship.

You will be working in a market leading and dynamic business, you gain exposure across a number of different finance departments through rotational placements, which could include financial accounting, commercial analysis, and operations finance, not only getting to know our business but providing you with all the skills and knowledge for a successful career. At the end of the scheme, you will be supported to transition into a role within our Finance team that is aligned performance on programme to your future career goals.

You'll be assigned a dedicated mentor to help you work on your personal development plan. Your mentor will be able to guide you in making the most of the experience and exposure opportunities of the graduate programme and create a clear development plan towards your goal end role.

What we're looking for

We are looking for you to have a passion for finance, food, and people. You will also be:

  • Keen to pursue further study, especially through a level 7 apprenticeship, with the long-term ambition of becoming a Chartered Accountant

To join our Finance Graduate scheme, you will need:

  • GCSE English language and Math's at grade C/4 or above or equivalent
  • To have achieved or be predicted to achieve a 2:1 or above in your degree.
  • The right to live and work in the UK.

We are looking for graduates of any discipline that are ready to begin a full-time graduate scheme from August 2024.

If you already hold a master's level qualification in Accountancy or more than eight exemptions with CIMA, unfortunately you won't be eligible for the programme.

Our operation is 24/7 so you may be required to work shifts. These will vary depending on site and could include early starts from 5am, rotating night shifts and weekends.

As this role provides the opportunity to work at different sites as part of your rotation, you will need to be geographically flexible and open to travelling.
