The role

We have an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join the ITV Studios team (the programme making arm of ITV) on a temporary 12 month fixed term contract basis to cover a period of parental leave. Reporting to the Heads of Finance for both Daytime and Unscripted, with management of the day to day activities of 2 Finance Analysts, this role is responsible for managing the financial planning, analysis and reporting functions and providing regular financial information to support business strategy, decision making and audit reviews.
The roles will cover a number of labels within the Unscripted Business, including Daytime, Potato, 12 Yard and So Television which produce programmes for Broadcasters such as ITV, Netflix, Discovery, BBC and Channel 4.

Key responsibilities will include:

• 
  Managing the month-end reporting process across a number of labels ensuring that the P&L and balance sheets are correctly consolidated into the group finance systems.
• Management of revenue recognition, development costs, staff recoveries and overheads expenditure. This will involve partnering with different areas of the business including Creative, Production, Business Affairs and HR and our Business Service Centre.
• Together with the Head of Finance, prepare the operational packs for Label Board Meetings.
• Alongside the Head of Finance, prepare the annual budgets and regular reforecasts including providing support with reporting and analysis.
• Responsible for preparing the audit files for statutory audits and being the first point of contact for all audit queries.
• Responsible alongside the Production Finance Managers in ensuring that programme accounting is closed in a timely manner and balances are correct on the balance sheet.
• Support with any ad-hoc requests and become a ‘go-to’ member of the finance team for the labels.
• Day to day management of 2 Finance Analysts

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Experience of working with a wide range of business stakeholders and developing strong working relationships.
• Proficient in the use of accounting systems, preferably with experience in Oracle Fusion and smart view.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

• Strong accounting skills covering the areas necessary to achieve the key responsibilities set out above.
• Previous line management experience is advantageous.
• Good commercial awareness with the ability to apply this knowledge into working practices.
• Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint and the equivalent Google Drive Cloud-based products.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing requirements.
• Confident in leading investigations into a wide range of ad hoc queries with the enthusiasm to ‘get stuck in’ and support the team.
• Able to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the business to develop a strong supportive network.
• Focused on looking for continual improvement within our reporting and processes to drive efficiencies.
• Experience of working in the Film and TV production industry would be desirable but not essential.
