Allen lane are delighted to be assisting a Council with the recruitment of an interim Finance Business Partner on a 6 month interim basis. This role will play a key part in the management of effective recording of budgets and reporting for the Highways Directorate and will support two Senior Budget Holders. Key duties include:
- Producing and maintaining accurate financial records for a specific budget portfolio
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts and working towards budget savings targets and optimizing value for money initiatives
- Ensuring that budgets and actuals are properly, accurately, and promptly recorded and reported
- Undertake reconciliations of budget areas to ensure that budgets are accurate
- Enable the Strategic Business Partnering model through the provision of budget support monitoring
- Produce, review, and analyse financial information to support directorate decision-making
- Deliver the budget setting process
- Responsible for a cross-cutting activity which enhances financial information available to the whole team
- Maintaining forecast models to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
The ideal person for this role will be a qualified Accountant who has extensive experience working in Local Authority finance. Due to the urgency of this piece of recruitment experience of Parking and or Highways is essential. Experience of working in a cost savings roles that includes supporting and challenging senior managers in making financial savings is essential.
