SalaryAccountancy Connect is working on behalf of an international business in Southampton, assisting their search for a Finance Manager to lead the finance function for the UK subsidiary.
The UK Finance Manager will lead a team of 4 reports with responsibility for the accounting and analysis for the UK subsidiary whilst providing financial support to the wider business for commercial decision-making processes.
Leading a team of 4, the key responsibilities for the UK Finance Manager role will be:
- Provide financial analysis to support the commercial teams with decision making processes to ultimately improve profitability.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly accounts to trial balance and prepare reports on performance explaining key variances to budget.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations ensuring they are completed in timely manner
- Oversee Accruals and Prepayments ensuring they are prepared correctly.
- Manage the Fixed Assets Register, Leases and stock accounting processes for the company ensuring cycle count procedures are followed.
- Prepare the company budgets and forecasting
- Ensure financial accounting procedures are being followed including VAT returns, government returns and in conjunction with the Group Financial Accountant, the year end accounts.
- As the manager of your team, look for and propose process improvements which will create efficiencies within your area and across the business.
- Work with the Customs department to ensure customs and duty procedure are being correctly applied and accounted for.
Required knowledge and experience for the UK Finance Manager role:
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified.
- Experience of the above responsibilities either within a medium to large sized organisation.
- Experience of supervising or managing small teams.
