Finance Manager (Developing To General Manager Within 12 To 18 Months)

My client, a well-established (circa 40 years), specialist family run Distribution/Manufacturing/Assembly SME approx. £5 mill T/O based in Berkshire RG31 is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager for a long-term permanent career with the company.

This role is exclusively with us so interviews and feedback will be prompt and will run efficiently.

This is a very rare opportunity in that the current MD/Owner would like the role to develop into a General Manager position over the next 12 - 18 months or whenever prudent as he intends to take a significant step back. With this transition will come a commensurate salary increase from the starting salary.

The position is very hands on but will also involve managing, mentoring and motivating an accounts assistant.

• Monthly management accounts preparation
• Control costs & expenses
• Procurement of utilities, IT, Insurances & key suppliers
• Cash-Flow management
• Budget and forecasting including variances and benchmarking
• Day-to-day posting of supplier invoices, accruals / prepayments
• Liaise with auditors, banks, solicitors, landlords
• Bank reconciliation and cash forecasts
• Supplier payment runs (UK/Foreign), posting and allocating payments to the purchase ledger
• Liaising with our payroll provider and auto enrolment pension contributions
• VAT/HMRC tax returns and statutory reporting
• Cashbook, posting receipts and payments
• Credit control and assisting the sales office teams
• Asset management/register (CRM) & depreciation
• Automation of process entry, web-expenses, Spindle document management, purchase order recognition
• Using Sage 200 software as well as Excel & Outlook
• Ideally with experience of importing, duties.

This company is looking for someone with drive and focus and the ability and experience to develop a highly efficient accounts function.
