The role:
The successful candidate combining their financial expertise and a passion for excellence will be responsible for overseeing, directing and administering the day to day financial operations. They will be accountable for compliance activities as well as the accuracy, quality and timely delivery of all measurable outputs e.g. monthly accounting, planning, budgeting and forecasting to ensure financial efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effective management of the financial budget. Communicating with the Chief Executive Officer, members of the Management Team, Department managers, Board of Directors ensuring they are accurately briefed regarding the current and forecasted financial situation.
- Ensure the preparation of accurate monthly management accounts on a timely basis with an analysis of all significant variances from budget. Taking effective measures to ensure budget over-runs are resolved.
- Ensuring the reporting requirements, including SLA's, annual compliance statements and any ad-hoc requests for financial information are provided in a timely manner to the Board, CEO and statutory agencies.
- Preparation of a cash flow projection for the year and monitor the cash flow position on a monthly basis.
- Preparation of income and expenditure projections for the year, monitoring these against cash flow projections and report on any variances.
- Managing working capital and surplus funds so as to maximise deposit interest receivable.
- Ensure effective accounting practices and processes are documented and in place throughout the company.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Recognised professional accountancy qualification e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior financial management (ideally within a charity or not for profit sector organisation)
- Knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of the compilation of monthly accounts and financial management processes, with excellent MS Office, IT skills and computerised financial and accounting systems experience
- Experience in procurement practices and corporate governance
- Unwavering dedication to accuracy; excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills together with the ability to work on their own initiative and prioritise their workload
Salary: 65k - 70k
