Finance Manager (Part-Time)

This organisation provides vital services through a network of offices across the Lancashire and North Manchester area. They have long terms contracts in place with local authorities and are prudently managed by a leadership team and board of Trustees who ensure their financial stability and continuous expansion. A key part of this growth will involve appointing a Finance Manager to be responsible for monitoring and analysis of performance, maintaining all financial records and continuous improvement in the finance function. This will be a very broad role and would suit someone with experience of all aspects of a finance role within an SME, ideally in a third sector or charitable organisation. The duties associated with this position will be:

• Preparation of the monthly management accounts with commentary
• Reporting and analysis of financial performance
• Monitoring cashflow, maintaining cash book and bank recs
• Maintaining sales and purchase ledger
• Supporting budget preparation and financial planning
• Liaising with external auditors and advisers
• Reviewing payroll and providing support
• Maintaining and improving accountancy software and systems

This senior role will involve working with a variety of internal stakeholders in addition to developing working relationships with external agencies, professional bodies and charities commission. Both strong reporting and verbal communication skills will therefore be essential along with desire to ensure the finance department delivers an excellent service.

The role will report to the CEO and you will interact with all of the SMT to ensure finance supports decision making so suitable applicants to this vacancy must have previous experience of a Management Accountant or Finance Manager type role. Due to the nature of the organisation there is a lot of complexity around income streams and compliance to adhere to so it is vital that the successful candidate has a calm and methodical approach.
