The Role
The job holder will provide insight, analysis, and commentary to stakeholders, aiming to drive decisions and actions that improve the bottom line. The job holder will partner with senior stakeholders when required, supporting across the business area driving process and reporting improvements. The role also has one direct report (Finance Analyst)
What you need to do
- Project work.
- Build an external perspective and use outputs to engage and influence the business.
- Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis and reporting for the business area as required to drive improvements.
- Network as required to complete analysis to resolve business problems.
- Develop and improve processes and reporting.
- Manage key controls and Governance frameworks.
- Build business Cases for investments and support post implementation reviews.
- Support the business to manage capital investment budgets.
- Support the business to manage Opex budgets.
- Run Finance Basics master classes with wider business if required.
- Success in this role will mean supporting the business in making decisions that enhance performance through cost control, driving efficiency and increasing return on investment.
- Interpret management reporting to provide insight, analysis, and commentary to stakeholders.
- Work with the Accounting team to ensure outputs are timely and accurate.
- Identify risks and opportunities and flag these to Finance Managers for prioritisation.
- Effectively manage the priorities and activities of one direct report.
- Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Effective communicator with senior stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen.
- Self-motivated team player, able to work autonomously & prioritise.
- Tech experience desired.
- Strong commercial acumen with a focus on driving excellent financial and commercial performance.
- Experience of maintaining strong financial controls.
- Committed to driving change.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience of modelling.
