Business Finance Support is looking to appoint a highly motivated and responsive Finance Support Officer.
The successful candidate’s duties will include:
- Maintaining Oracle EBS financial systems, monitoring all required revenue & capital budgets & holding/suspense accounts, ensuring the integrity of all financial information, including accurate and timely posting of expenditure & income
- Supplying a wide range of financial information on a regular and ad-hoc basis to managers, budget-holders and senior finance staff to enable the effective financial management and control of the Council’s finances in line with Corporate financial policies and Financial Regulations
- Co-ordinating workflows with staff from service areas and within Corporate Finance to ensure that grant claims, financial & statistical returns & other external requests for information are produced to a high standard in a timely & effective manner
- Monitoring & reviewing all financial operations and make recommendations for improvements to systems and procedures where necessary to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources and the adequacy of internal control.
- Liaising with managers, budget holders and other finance staff to produce and collate financial information for the production of the Council’s medium & long term budget, ensuring that the Council’s aims & objectives are reflected in budget proposals.
- Providing front-line financial support, advice, analysis & training to service managers and staff to ensure that financial management information is available to aid the service management decision making process.
- Providing leadership, support and training for staff to aid their personal objectives and develop staff able to provide a high quality financial support service.
