Key Tasks
- Act as the key customer contact for designated service area and develop good working relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders and partners.
- Assist with research, analysis and reporting of financial and management information.
- Prepare annual revenue and capital estimates in accordance with approved plans and policies in consultation with departmental budget managers.
- Support and advise budget managers in managing, monitoring and reporting on financial performance and provide financial forecasts.
- Undertake regular financial reconciliations including the correction of errors.
- Undertake the closing of accounts promptly and in accordance with best professional standards and statutory requirements.
- Assist in the production of business cases, assessing and highlighting financial implications.
- Complete financial returns and processes including for example, grant claims and VAT self certification.
What we need from you
- Competent user of Word, Excel, Outlook or equivalents.
- Ability to produce clear and concise numerical and written reports, including the ability to simplify and explain complex data.
- Sound working knowledge or computerised financial systems.
- Experience of local government accounting procedures.
- Experience of setting and monitoring budgets
