We currently have two opportunities within the Adult Social Care Finance Team for Direct Payment Finance Officer roles based in Wat Tyler House in the main Swindon Council Offices in Beckhampton Street, Swindon.
Your next role
As a Direct Payment Finance Officer in the ASC Finance Team, you will be responsible for your own ledger of clients ensuring accurate set up of a Direct Payment, effecting required and authorised financial changes, completing the monthly pay run, reviewing Direct Payment Client bank statements to monitor spend, liaising with Direct Payment clients to support them with facilitation of their Direct Payment in relation queries, applying agreed annual uplifts and ensuring timely closedown of ended Direct Payment packages. Working with Swindon Borough Council Partners, Stakeholders, Commissioners and the Social Work team to clarify accuracy and ensure queries are resolved. Support the wider ASC Finance Team, when required. This role requires good attention to detail, excellent self-organisation, self-motivation and the ability to challenge, where appropriate, to achieve the desired outcome.
Desirably from a Credit Control, or Purchase/Sales Ledger finance background, you should be educated with a minimum of 4 GCSE’s including Math’s and English at grade C or above or equivalent. Organised with an ability to prioritise your workload efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines, highly motivated, flexible and adaptable. Computer literate with expertise in using spreadsheets (Excel intermediate or advanced) for financial purposes, including reconciliation and accounting. Strong numeracy and analytical skills coupled with excellent communication skills are a must for this role.
The successful applicants will be team players with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and a flexible attitude.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
