Finance Solicitor

Hays are delighted to represent a leading international law firm, currently recruiting a Finance Solicitor to join their Digital Legal Delivery Team in Belfast.

Your new role

In this role, you will support the delivery of finance deals and transactions, finance mandates such as outsourcings for bank and asset manager clients and other ad hoc finance projects.This is a very collaborative role and will involve working closely with the firm’s London Finance team and liaising directly with clients and other parties.

Duties include:
• Conducting fee earning work directly, as well as supervising more junior members of the legal team
• Playing a proactive role in the delivery of finance transactions and project, under the supervision of the Digital Legal Delivery Finance Senior team and in collaboration with London Finance teams.
• Delivering excellent client service and make an effective contribution to the firm’s work.
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of law to the Digital Legal Delivery Finance practice.
• Working with legal technology tools appropriate to the relevant matter (e.g. AI/ artificial intelligence and legal tech tools to improve efficiency of service delivery).
• Comply with risk requirements, firm policies and all relevant professional responsibilities and legislation and contribute to billing, engagement and client acceptance processes.
• Liaising with clients and teams elsewhere in the firm as required on fee-earning matters or projects.

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful candidate for this role, you will have a minimum of 1 + years’ PQE (Northern Ireland / England and Wales / Republic of Ireland) the majority of which should be banking and finance experience. You will also have:
• Strong legal skills, including drafting, negotiation and project management skills.
• Basic people management and business development skills.
