FINANCE MANAGER
Salary: £45,000 per annum (pro rata)
Location: Ballymena
Hours of work: Minimum hours 3 days per week (22.5 hours), however for the right applicant 4 days (30 hours) would be considered.
Flexible working in terms of both start and finish times and also in terms of hybrid working, consistent with the needs of credit union operations

About The Role
The Role
As Finance Manager you will hold the Regulatory SMF8 Function, responsible and accountable to the regulators, the board of directors and the CEO for the entire finance function in the credit union.
Reporting to the CEO of the Credit Union, ensuring that the finance team are properly trained and able to deliver the daily rota, post daily financial transactions, pay invoices, and prepare monthly management accounts.

Required Criteria
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (Grade C or above) including Math & English (or the equivalent)
- A third level degree, preferably in a business-related field
- A recognised professional or financial accreditation with post qualification experience
- Strong IT literacy with ability to use all MS Office applications confidently with strong emphasis on Microsoft Office Excel
- Experience of leading a financial team and managing staff and all aspects of their development
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar field
- Experience of providing high level financial reporting
- Experience of operational improvements and systems development
- Ability to understand, develop and implement banking & financial systems.
- Good communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written with all staff and stakeholders
- Able to work as a member of a team.
- Hold a valid UK Driving License and be willing to travel
Desired Criteria
- Experience of working with public, banking, voluntary or finance sector accounts
- Experience of working with external and internal auditors
- An understanding of the new GDPR regulations and the impact on Financial Services
- Ability to process information with a high level of detail and care; analyse member accounts, define what constitutes sensitive data.
