Position Overview:
The Financial Accountant in this role will be responsible for guiding and mobilising a compact team to provide high-quality financial management services. Emphasis will be placed on achieving accuracy and timeliness in deliverables, maintaining a strong control framework, and proactively escalating issues for efficient resolution.
The successful Financial Accountant will be joining a Platinum status IIP company which puts a heavy emphasis on good people management and strong company culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the financial reporting activities adhere to an effective control environment, overseeing risk-related processes pertinent to the team.
- Timely completion of tasks related to the month-end closing process.
- Compile and deliver accurate half-year and full-year group reporting packs, ensuring adherence to review processes.
- Prepare and present the annual financial statements.
- Review and prepare quarterly and annual VAT returns.
- Address the Corporation Tax requirements through preparation and review processes.
- Collaborate with the Financial Controller to identify and implement improvements and automation in key processes.
- Provide additional analysis to support management reviews of crucial outputs, enhancing existing review processes.
- Work in tandem with the Management Accountant to deliver necessary management reporting.
Requirements:
- Hold a recognised Accounting Qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA)
- Strong understanding of IFRS standards
- 3/4 years post qualified experience
- Microsoft 365 - Word & Excel
- Processing knowledge
