Our client is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join a very successful and acquisitive business. You will be part qualified or newly qualified with excellent organisational and interpersonalskills and responsible for leading all aspects of the portfolio’s financial compliance (excluding tax) across the growing group of companies. The role reports directly into the Finance Operations Director. And you will be required to work with the wider finance team to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the reporting processes, automating where possible to drive best practice.
Key responsibilities of the role Financial Accountant:
- Financial accounting: provide technical guidance, prepare policy papers, prepare consolidated statutory accounts for the group including subsidiaries.
- Audit: Manage the portfolio’s audits, both external and internal, building strong relationships with the audit team. Effectively communicate audit requests with the wider finance team to ensure the timetable is followed.
- Tax: work closely with the tax team to ensure accurate and timely submissions. Support on wider tax projects where relevant.
- Treasury: Manage banking relationships, improving processes and controls. Introduce and maintain cash forecasting for monthly cash extraction process.
- Continual improvement: help drive improvement in finance systems, processes and reporting.
- Technically strong with high standards with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Shows initiative with a hands-on attitude
- Priority setting – able to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple deadlines across different disciplines
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with other software applications
