Our client is looking to recruit a Financial Controller. You will possess significant experience of leading and managing budgets and can build good relationships with staff and senior management then we want to hear from you. In this role, you will lead and manage the Finance and Estates services, ensuring ethical and efficient resource management, provide strategic guidance on finances to the Group CEO and Deputy CEO, maintaining high standards for resource use. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the Group's cash position, overseeing banking arrangements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Coordinating tax matters and advising on investments and international expansion will also be part of your responsibilities. Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller:
Knowledge of current legislation affecting such items as accounting requirements, taxation, payroll, pensions and VAT
Qualified accountant with extensive experience in the role, (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, AAT or CIPFA)
Experience of financial accounting packages, specifically SAGE
Recent experience of managing substantial financial operations including account consolidation
Evidence of working at a senior level with financial management systems, associated policies and procedures to ensure best practice is adopted
Significant experience of leading and managing budgets and working with stakeholders to develop strong financial understanding and empathy across the organisation
Experience of negotiating contractual agreements settlements and commercial disputes
Able to demonstrate a strong business focus and commercial acumen
Experience of working on organisational change projects
Ability to build good relationships and trust with senior management and staff
Integrity and a commitment to strong governance
Credibility at senior level with the Group board, external partners and organisations
