Job Title: Financial Controller - Newly Qualified Accountant

Location: Rugby, UK

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance

Robert Half is pleased to be working with a leading UK company that holds the prestigious position of Number 1 in the UK for their industry. We are actively seeking a dynamic and ambitious Newly Qualified Accountant to join the team as the Financial Controller. This role is a key position within the wider group, reporting directly to the Group Financial Director and UK MD.

Responsibilities:

1. Business Partnering: Work closely with the Managing Director, providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
2. Regional Integration: Collaborate with regional managers across 8 locations, actively contributing to the better integration of the company. Travel to various locations within the UK, actively engaging with on-site teams and fostering effective communication.
3. Ambitious Leadership: Be an ambitious and proactive leader, contributing to the upward trajectory of both your career and the company.
4. Hands-on Accounting: Take ownership of the Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, ensuring accurate financial reporting, including the Balance Sheet, P&L & Cash Flow Statements
5. Tax Reporting: Oversee tax reporting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and timely submissions.
6. Technical Accounting: Stay abreast of accounting standards and implement necessary changes. Provide insights on technical accounting matters.
7. Year-End Activities: Lead and coordinate year-end processes, collaborating with internal teams and external auditors. Act as the primary contact for auditors, facilitating a smooth audit process and addressing any queries.

Qualifications:

• Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a hands-on financial role, ideally with exposure to business partnering.
• Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with relevant tax regulations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact and influence at all levels.
• Ambitious mindset and a desire to contribute to the growth and success of the organisation.
• Willingness to travel across the Midlands as part of the business partnering activities.
