Financial Controller– International Hospitality Group
Role: Financial Controller
Location: Watford
Salary: Up to £65,000
We are working with an already established and incredible Hospitality Group that is looking to grow even more over the next few years.
They aim to connect communities through great food and drinks, whilst reducing waste and increasing sustainability.
You will be responsible for the preparation of the full Group annual budget and quarterly forecast, working closely with the Finance Director and CFO on the outcomes.
You will have the opportunity to gain an end-to-end understanding of the business profitability and operations, which will in turn stand you in excellent stead to make the transition to broader roles within the organisation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Managing/coaching/training a team of Junior Accounts Assistants and ensuring correct procedures are being adhered to and the team is motivated.
- Ensuring timely and accurate production of management accounts and annual budgets- being able to report to the Board of Directors.
Ensuring EBITDA targets are met. - Managing the day-to-day interface with the Companies Bankers and meeting covenant reporting requirements.
- Liaising with the in-house Payroll Department to ensure best practices are being implemented.
- Completing quarterly VAT Payments for each Company
- Complying with PAYE obligations/company secretarial tasks
- Implementing good tax planning/ Corporation tax and liaising with outside auditors
- Preparing various draft year-end accounts/use of capital allowances/losses
- Enhancing financial reporting, controls, and procedures across the group
- Playing a key role in developing IT systems to improve asset protection, financial control, and reporting.
- Reviewing annual utilities, waste, and insurance contracts.
- Reporting to the Director and Banks regarding financial covenants.
The successful candidate:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) preferred, or near qualified as a minimum.
- Proven track record in the hospitality/retail industry.
- Highly analytical; Advanced knowledge of Excel; Excellent oral and presentation skills
- Analytical, creative thinker, who is detail oriented.
- Able to build and draw upon strong business partner relationships.
