As a private equity backed business with a planned exit by the current investors in the next 24 to 36 months, it is imperative we have a strong Finance department in place. Our current business structure includes 8 companies across several regions, though our primary operations are based in UK and Ireland with sales across the world. The role will be responsible for enforcing financial control across the business, preparing accurate and meaningful internal and external reporting and managing three direct reports. When transactions take place, this role will contribute to these projects, primarily office based in our Winnersh office.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage, motivate, mentor, and lead the finance team of 3 in day-to-day operations of all group companies.
- Responsible for accounting and month-end activities; working to a tight deadline in line with PE reporting.
- Implement strong financial accounting and control in day-to-day activities in all entities.
- Manage the cashflow activities to improve reporting/forecast.
- Statutory Audits, Tax and Regulatory returns.
- Ad hoc projects such as entities rationalisation and future acquisitions.
- Review Actual and Budget financials to understand variances and implement efficiency and accuracy for Reforecast.
- Identify gaps to improve business performance and decisions e.g. Project Accounting Review.
- Supporting CFO and Management Team on strategic initiatives.
Experience
- Experience within a professional services environment would be advantageous.
- Experience working in a business with an international presence would be advantageous.
- Experience dealing with acquisitions and integration advantageous.
- Experience managing a team.
- Working experiences in Sage Accounting System (preferable).
Qualifications
- Fully qualified with CIMA or AAT.
Personal attributes
- Fully qualified accountant with a strong track record of running smooth monthly, quarterly and annual close processes Preferable to have experience in a private equity backed business.
- Strong analytical and leadership skills
- Sense of urgency and ability to prioritise and multi-task.
- Good MS Office Excel skills (pivotable, lookups, etc.)
- Hard working, detail-oriented and proactive
- Strong integrity and interpersonal skills as you will be working with all levels of business stakeholders.
