An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated Financial Controller in a fast-paced wholesale distribution business in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will be a driven and dynamic individual seeking a number one finance role and will be a crucial member of the Senior Leadership Team. This role is ideally suited to someone who is keen to step up and develop reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility for all financial aspects of the business through an exciting period of growth;
- Responsibility for producing weekly and monthly management packs, detailing KPIs and presenting them to the Board for review;
- Producing and monitoring quarterly and annual P&L budgets, cashflow forecasts and other financial metrics with assistance from the current financial accounting team;
- Implementing and maintaining standard costing records and analysing any resulting variances; and
- Working closely with operational staff to ensure accuracy of accounting records, develop controls where necessary and identify and eradicate inefficiencies.
You will be/have:
- A qualified accountant or qualified by experience;
- Proven strong experience in providing management accounts, and strong knowledge of financial principles, practices and regulations;
- Highly motivated and able to work independently, with a desire to oversee all aspects of financial management for a growing business;
- Excellent analytical skills, with attention to detail; and
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Power BI advantageous.
