SalaryA highly successful, independently owned £30million turnover business, with nationwide coverage and HO in Carlisle, are looking to appoint a technically competent accountant. Working closely with the Finance Director and Company Directors, the newly appointed accountant will be responsible for the management accounts production, data analysis and KPI reporting.
What are the key responsibilities?
- Monthly management accounts production
- Cashflow management & accurate forecasting
- Oversee & support three finance staff responsible for the sales ledger function - large value accounts, ensuring accuracy and prompt payments.
- Support FD with budget & forecasting process
- Weekly KPI reporting and analysis (sales volumes, utilisation, cost per unit, working capital)
- Work with FD to identify cost reduction opportunities, improvements & efficiencies
- Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
- Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
- Assist the FD in presenting reports to management, stakeholders, and board members.
- Liaison with auditors
- Using Sage accounting software.
What type of accountant would this role suit?
A competent accountant, QBE or fully qualified, seeking a number two role in which you can have a good level of responsibility and autonomy whilst having the support from a qualified Finance Director. Working in a fast paced environment, the successful accountant will play a key role and supply the directors with data and analysis which will shape and grow the business. Attention to detail, accuracy and strong communication skills to liaise confidently with colleagues across the business. Strong systems and Excel ability is essential.
What salary and benefits are on offer in return?
- Competitive salary £45,000 - £55,000 DOE + Bonus + 3.1% Pension Contribution
- 40 hours (Monday - Friday), typical hours 08:00-16:30 - Flexibility on start/finish time available
- Part time/reduced hours available
