A leading insurance underwriting firm is seeking a talented and experienced Financial Controller to join their Finance team. This is a newly created role that will play a pivotal part in enhancing their monthly reporting capabilities.
About the Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Building and collating a suite of monthly reports to present and explain the financial position.
- Working with Syndicate Accountants and the Company Accountant to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Assisting with the completion of FP&A reporting for the Syndicate.
- Providing support to the Finance Director and managing the Finance team.
We are looking for someone with:
- A solid understanding of accounting principles for preparing company and consolidated statutory accounts.
- A good understanding of taxation and VAT (preferable).
- Sound knowledge of IT systems, especially Excel, Anaplan, and FloQast. (Experience with Sun Accounts would be a bonus).
- An Accountancy Qualification.
- Management experience, including the ability to manage and develop teams.
- Experience working within the Lloyd's syndicate market and syndicate accounting experience.
- Advanced communication skills and the ability to decipher financial data.
