The Financial Planning and Analysis Lead will work closely to deliver crucial information to the Finance Partner, COO, and UK Executive Board.
The Central Firmwide Business Partnering team focuses on providing a full suite of business decision support services directly to the firm's leadership. Working with senior stakeholders across the firm to gather information, align growth targets and standardise best practice. This team plays a crucial role in directly supporting the key strategic decisions made at the highest level of the firm.
About the Role:
As a member of the Central Firmwide Business Partnering team, you will be responsible for directing UK Planning and forecasting activities. This includes providing analysis on monthly performance and working on finance-related projects on behalf of the Finance Director. You will work directly with the Finance Director within the Firmwide Business Partner team, providing commercially focused insights and Analysis to drive the UK Firm's financial strategy.
Additionally, you will participate in leadership meetings, providing support and challenging the business from a financial perspective when necessary.
As a Financial Planning and Analysis Lead, you will leverage your technical knowledge, commercial insights, and interpersonal skills to drive, influence, and challenge the business to achieve short and long-term financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Finance Director of Firmwide Business Partnering in ensuring alignment of top-down targets through to operational plans. This will include providing commercially focused reviews of Lines of Service strategic plans and encouraging business leaders to set appropriate performance targets.
- Provide direction and support to Lines of Service Finance Planning Leads on Planning and forecasting activities, developing and implementing planning guidance and ensuring Lines of Service output plans are aligned with the firm's strategy. Incorporate commercial and market initiatives, plans, and strategies into Financial Planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Deliver forward-looking, market-focused insightful presentations to the business Executive and COO, delivering a full picture of the business through the consolidation of financial and performance analysis.
- Deliver high quality analysis and insight into the monthly performance of the business. Through having a strong accounting background and knowledge of the impact on business indicators.
- Proactively identify possible scenarios, risks and opportunities around business performance. Work with Lines of Service Finance Directors to identify risks and opportunities
- Play an influential role in steering groups and projects that support business delivery and strategic alignment.
- Deliver high quality communications and presentation papers on finance-based matters for the UK Executive Board, Lines of Service COOs, Finance Executive, Partner affairs committee, and Supervisor board.
- Act as a communicator of best practice financial management and lead change management actions to ensure knowledge sharing and leverage.
About You:
- Individual with strong commercial and business awareness, able to demonstrate strategic vision and to identify and advise on business risks.
- Senior-level experience in budgeting, planning, forecasting and consolidation.
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic and external business environment.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to formulate and execute long-term plans.
- Track record of delivering accurate, high-quality work, with excellent written and communication skills.
- Proven track record of focused continuous improvement and a technology-enabled mindset.
- Financial accounting background with relevant finance qualification.
