Finishing Operative

Proactive Personnel are currently looking for Finishing Operatives for our client based in Leyland.

Duties include:

• Breakout, examine and inspect materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
• Mark and label containers, or products, using marking tools.
• Record product, packaging, and order information on finishing daily docket.
• Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
• Remove completed boxed products and place onto pallets to customer specification.
• Remove defective products or materials, and place in the designated waste bins provided.
• Seal corrugated containers using automated tape machines and hand tools.
• ·Load materials and products into package processing equipment.
• Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
• Transport packages to finished goods holding area.
• Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools.
• Follow general and special instructions given by gluing operator.
• Carry out quality checks at pre-determined intervals throughout the running of the job.
• Have good working relationships with all individuals and departments
• Ensure that the working area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
• Report any faults immediately to the gluing operator.
• Carry out regular stock checks of consumables, informing the relevant people in advance to avoid shortages.
• Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality, health and safety, hygiene standards, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
• Carry out any other reasonable requests by management

Requirements:

• Previous experience and a thorough understanding of the print/packaging industries and related businesses.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work on projects of diverse scope
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
