Job description

Position: First / Second Line Technical Support Engineer

Flexible Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:30, Monday – Friday

Salary: £25,000 + Benefits

 Evolution is seeking a proactive and motivated individual to join our dynamic IT team as a First / Second Line Technical Support Engineer.

You will be responsible for supporting the business, its users, desktops, servers, and systems. The company has a modest infrastructure estate based on hybrid cloud and on premise, VMware, and SAN shared storage, with various SQL server driven technical bespoke systems which you will be expected to become familiar with allowing you to support the core business needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience and certification with relevant exposure and variety to their work, to expand their knowledge and skill set over a wide range of products including virtualization and coding.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Resolving helpdesk queries
  • Logging, Assigning & Answering helpdesk calls
  • Testing Software Releases for bugs and functionality
  • Creation of new users & accounts
  • Removal of users and accounts
  • Updating and installing various software applications
  • Resolving hardware issues (PC, printers, routers, networking, switches, cabling, etc.)
  • Basic Server administration
  • Stock management – Asset tagging, recording stock movements

Requirements

Requirements:

The successful candidate should ideally possess:

  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019/2022, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and other Office Applications.
  • Desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

It would be advantageous to have some technical understanding or exposure to the following:

  • MS Windows desktop (10/11)
  • MS Office (2019, M365)
  • Windows Server (2019, 2022)
  • Active Directory
  • Exchange Online
  • Virtualisation (Vmware)
