Fixed Assets Accountant

Your new company
I am working with a great organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent who, due to continuous growth, are looking for a Fixed Assets Accountant to join their finance team.
Your new role
As a Fixed Assets Accountant, you will take responsibility for maintaining the fixed asset registers and providing supporting commentary for review by the senior management team.
Your duties will include:

• Performing timely recording of fixed asset acquisitions and disposals onto the fixed asset registers
• Calculating any profit/loss on disposal
• Performing reconciliations of the general ledger balance to the fixed asset registers
• Preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations and present to Senior Finance Managers
• Escalating any clear and obvious errors to the management team
• Preparation of fixed asset registers for the Statutory Accounts process and Annual Audit
• Preparing depreciation future projections for forecasts / budgets
• Consolidating all Fixed Assets across the Group into one register
• Providing commentary on group additions and disposals to management team
• Creating and maintaining documentation to support Operating Lease calculations (UK GAAP)
• Reviewing lease contracts to calculate Right of Use Asset values and Discounted Lease Liability (IFRS 16)
• Liaising with IT, Procurement and Vendor Management teams on Capex projects
• Presenting reports on cost vs budget to the management team

What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience within Fixed Assets Maintenance, knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS16, be innovative and have the ability to build good working relationships with stakeholders at various levels.
What you'll get in return
