Job description

We're looking for a Fixed Assets Finance Manager to join our team in Bradford.
The Financial Accounts team within the Liberty Shared Services are responsible for developing and delivering financial accounting activity for group entities, including:
  • BOCF accounting and reporting (debt, derivatives, SBCE etc);
  • Accounting for LG Investment companies
  • Cash & bank and Treasury activity accounting
  • LG Central Intercompany and Affiliate accounting
  • Fixed assets, inventory, and lease accounting
  • Group consolidation accounting
  • Balance sheet and working capital analysis and reporting, balance sheet governance
  • Reporting monthly results to Liberty Global and other parent companies
  • VAT and Corporate Tax compliance and reporting; and
  • Preparation of subsidiary company statutory accounts (UK and NL), Bank Group and other regulatory reporting.
The role sits in the Fixed Assets team who are primarily responsible for the accounting and reporting of:
  • Tangible and intangible Fixed Assets; depreciation, amortization, and impairment.
  • Capital inventory.
  • Leases.
  • Asset retirement obligations.
What will you be doing?
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting.
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and fixing issues at source.
  • Performance of controls within the controls framework, and liaising with Financial Control to ensure the controls remain appropriate.
  • Liaising with business stakeholders to understand planned activities and projects, and their impact on accounting processes.
  • Liaising with and provision of information to internal and external auditors.
  • Liaising with various stakeholder groups including, Management Accounts, Financial Control; Treasury and the Group Reporting teams.
  • Delivers continuous process improvements to simplify and improve efficiency and quality.
  • Identifying areas for process automation and liaising with the automation teams to build the solution.
We tend to look for people with:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA; ACCA; CIMA etc) with at least 1 to 3 years PQE.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Exposure to complex accounting along with experience of working within large corporate structures.
  • Strong excel skills essential.
  • Financial systems skills beneficial (eg. Oracle, Hyperion/HFM).
