About the role
As a Floating Support Worker, you will work with Prison Leavers experiencing substance misuse issues who are also at risk of eviction/homelessness or struggling to engage meaningfully with services.
Working closely with the EF’s housing team, substance misuse providers, Police, probation, and other partner organisations, you will support the continuation of care and nurture support networks in the wider community for people to access.
All Support Workers receive an in-depth training package to provide you with the skills you need to support people in the community.
About you
- You will have some experience working in a support role, but we will provide you with the knowledge and training you need to work with clients in a holistic and person-centred way.
- You are compassionate, energetic, reliable, and committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Prison Leavers and those experiencing homelessness / rough sleeping.
- Patience and resilience will come naturally to you. You should have good interpersonal and listening skills as you will be supporting people with challenging mental health problems.
- Above all, you will be enthusiastic and have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives
