Summary

The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to join us.

We're looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you'd be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.

This location is in a rural area, so please think about how you'd get here for work, before applying for the job.

This is a part time seasonal role within the Cafe (with an opportunity to extend into the 2025 season), with the 2024 open season running from 27th March until 3rd November although availability will be required from March for training/ induction sessions.

Regular e-learning and training sessions will be a mandatory part of the role.

Shifts will vary between 11.00am - 5.00pm and this will be discuss at interview. Regular weekend and Bank Holiday working is essential however, there are no evenings or split shifts

Offering a flexible working pattern, average shifts per week are anticipated to be 2 days although it may be more or less depending on the need.

Hours: This role is an hourly paid, fixed term position. Wherever possible, we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but we're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We'd give you as much notice of this as possible.

Salary: GBP10.50 per hour.

Duration: Fixed Term Contract

You will be working at Melford Hall, Long Melford, Sudbury, CO10 9AA What you'll be doing As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the caf??. With your love of working with people, your 'can-do' attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you'll be making sure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that's constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial. You'll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. And you'll always keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you'll make sure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food. We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role.
