The self styled Modern Cheesemonger, we operate predominantly online sending out recklessly good looking boxes filled with award winning cheese.

We’ve grown fast since starting out from our founder’s kitchen just over 7 years ago. Now based in Raynes Park, we’re sending out literally tonnes of cheese each month, growing a wholesale division and building out a broad affiliate network. But we’re not stopping there. 92% of the UK population eat cheese each week...we’re on a mission to get more of these people eating better cheese.

A bit about the role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Operator to join our team. As a Production Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe processing of our products for retail sale. This is a full-time, cold room based position for someone who has a passion for food and will take extreme care and pride in looking after and preparing our core product.

Responsibilities:
- Portioning and packaging cheese - from breaking down large wheels of cheese into portions, vaccuum packing, labelling and palletising ready for despatch

- Operating production equipment and machinery according to standard operating procedures

- Monitoring production processes to ensure quality and efficiency

- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment

- Adhere to HACCP guidelines and maintain accurate records

- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines

- Conduct basic mathematical calculations for portioning products and quantities

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations

- Experience in Food Production or manufacturing required

- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot simple equipment issues

- Familiarity with HACCP principles and procedures

- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and quantities accurately

- Strong work ethic and the ability to work unaided as well as part of a small team

Please note the nature of the role is physically demanding, requiring regular lifting of wheels of cheese up to 25kg and the use of large machinery in a chilled environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.15 per hour
