Opportunities have arisen to join our team in the roles of Forensic Support Officer.
One role will be based at the DNA Recovery Unit, Essex Police Headquarters, Chelmsford and one role will be based at the Chemical Enhancement Laboratory in Laindon.
These are challenging roles that require the successful candidates to provide an efficient and comprehensive forensic exhibits/Fingerprint administrative service on behalf of the Forensic Department within an accredited environment.
You will receive and review exhibits, quality assuring submissions using documented procedures to ensure accuracy, document and store items and update a forensic case tracking system. Other duties include responding to queries from Crime Scene Investigators and Investigating Officers, completing stock checks and ordering consumables and repackaging and returning forensic exhibits to divisions.
What we are looking for:
At shortlisting we will be looking for essential evidence of the following:
You must have a good standard of education to GCSE or equivalent and be IT literate
You must be self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative and well as part of a team
You must have good organisational skills and be able to prioritise workloads to meet competing demands
In addition, it would be helpful if you could evidence:
Previous experience of working from and following a standard operating procedure.
Previous experience/knowledge of working in an accredited environment.

Weekdays 0830-1630.
DNA recovery Unit, Essex Police Headquarters Chelmsford.

Successful applicants for this role will be defined as a; Static Worker - Works solely from one office within an office-based team. Some travel may be required to other police sites to discharge duty.
Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £27,351.00.
