The Animal Health FP&A team is a small, highly focused team providing financial planning, analysis and decision support to the Animal Health commercial business. This senior role predominantly focused on the GB market, is the business partner of choice in providing support to the BU Directors and their commercial sales and marketing teams, leading upon important initiatives, whilst also being a strong advocate for Finance. The ability to challenge and influence at a senior level is essential. In addition, this role will support the Irish Animal Health Finance
Lead.
The GB Animal Health business is forecast to achieve in excess £200M turnover in 2024 with a projected headcount of over 200 FTEs, in this role, you will represent the finance function as an expert and as an enabler with a proactive can-do attitude, providing clear and sound guidance and support whilst delivering to the highest standard. Responsibilities include:
- In this role, you will be a key player in business unit senior teams, ensuring that they are supported with accurate & insightful performance analysis. You will highlight risks and opportunities to finance and commercial management and provide analyses to support decision making across all areas of the P&L.
- Take a lead role in forecasting across the year. Working with regional and local Finance to plan, strategise, and execute the forecast cycle, in collaboration with the wider business.
- Provide reports to business leaders that include insightful variance / trend analysis to support decision making
- Conduct pricing analysis, deal evaluation and profitability analyses for the business in support of growth and profitability strategic objectives
- Understand commercial customer rebate data to ensure revenue is recorded according to UK GAAP and Corporate Policies
- Maintain tracker models for customer rebates /deals which sit outside of the rebate system. Maintain archive of contracts and review with finance leadership and the business regularly to ensure completeness.
- Understand the month end revenue recognition (sales cut off, non-standard terms agreed, returns provisions, etc) entries, at the month end close. Ensure all entries reviewed with finance leadership are documented.
- Revenue recognition and visibility of gross to net sales drivers area a key focus area for the GB organisation and you will play a key role in driving the on-going development of processes & reporting.
- Build robust relationships across both the commercial business, the Irish Finance team, the Business Support Centre (BSC in Prague), and the local Accounting to Reporting team, to ensure seamless FP&A support to the business.
- Liaise with the BSC team and manage consolidation, analysis, and reporting of monthly / quarterly / annual revenue and commercial spend; collaborate closely with the BSC to provide timely information and insights into the drivers of key variances
- Liaise with the local and BSC A&TP teams to ensure actual results are understood and reflect the true position of the business
- Develop and foster strong financial integrity & stewardship culture across the business.
- Provide insight as required to corporate & regional stakeholders
Drive a continuous improvement mind-set ensuring that best practice is shared and standardised across the Finance team.
Candidates must be self motivated and have proven analytical & financial modelling experience, ideally within a brand led commercial, pharmaceutical or healthcare organisation. They will be a competent and confident communicator, able to convey often complex messages in an easily understood manner, across all levels of the organisation.
Key stakeholders will be the Ireland Leadership Team and their immediate direct reports, Finance colleagues with GB and the BSC, and local accounting teams, Animal Health regional Finance management and HQ Finance colleagues. You must be able to demonstrate tenacity, flexibility and to be able to quickly grasp strategic and commercial issues.
- Qualified Accountant with 3 or more years PQE including a senior FP&A role.
- Excellent communication skills, able to influence and create rapport at all levels of the organisation
- Team player with a focus on collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills, able to create positive relationships across teams and functions.
- Commercially astute with an innovative and analytical approach to problem solving
- Works effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, under pressure and with a high degree of professionalism
- Strategic thinker, but with an eye for detail, efficient & accurate.
- Highly PC literate, SAP experience desirable and advanced Excel modelling a must.
