The position is responsible for Finance Planning & Analysis activities related to American Express Global Business Travel (Hotel, Air, Car revenue etc.), in the Global Business Partnership FP&A team, with sole responsibility for
Global Distribution System (GDS) revenue.
The role will encompass many aspects of Finance such as Planning & Forecasting, Month End Reporting, updating Cashflows, tracking Accounts Receivable, and Trend analysis. The Finance Analyst will have good visibility within the business, working with multiple business partners and collaborating with various teams.
This position will report directly into a GBP FP&A Manager.
What you'll do on a typical day:
- Key support of financial planning & forecasting for Global Distribution System (GDS) revenue, ensuring budgets & forecasts are accurate with risks and opportunities tracked.
- Provide robust tracking of financials to ensure variances are understood, and report on actual financial results against targets, to assist in guidance on future trends.
- Ensure that reporting is succinct, consistent & insightful, and meet all SOX requirements.
- Provide inputs to the cashflow forecast on a regular basis, with cooperation of the business to maintain Cash flow forecast and communicate A/R position.
- Collaborate with other finance teams & cross-functional teams including Finance Shared Services, Controllership & the GBP Business.
- Assist in ad hoc financial analysis projects and reports preparation as required.
- Drive changes to improve and automate processes where possible.
- Financial accounting skills (certified accountant)
- Audit experience with one of the big 4 is preferred due to the nature of the complex GDS contracts
