The Role
Overall responsibility of the running of a project and to supervise and organise sites teams so that work is carried out to the required standards in accordance with the requirements of the client’s specification, the site health and safety plan, financial targets, and time constraints of program of works.
Main Duties
- Ensure that the requirements of CDM are complied with as they apply to the work activities undertaken by the company. prepare where necessary pre-construction and construction phase health and safety plan and ensure as far as is reasonably practicable that any variations to work content are sufficiently addressed by revised risk assessments, method statements and amendments to health and safety plan.
- Ensure that site safety inspections are carried out and recorded to confirm compliance with health and safety plan. ensuring that any non-compliant areas are brought to the attention of the contract manager and company safety officer, so that appropriate action can be taken.
- Participate in procurement of supply chain to ensure resources are available to complete works to standards and programme.
- Ensure that rates negotiated for works carried out by sub-contractors include all necessary safety requirements and that sub-contractors provide appropriate risk assessments and method statements for works. This may include managing/working closely with the QS team.
- Ensure company financial procedures are adhered to, particularly in respect of the negotiating labour prices with sub contactors, agreeing rates for additional works and authorising payments sheets. This may include managing/working closely with the QS team.
- Manage works and ensure they meet required standards and programme, identify problems and discuss solutions with team members, instruct action as is necessary.
- Attend and lead site meetings with client, as necessary, and lead all other client related meetings.
- Ensure that additional works are correctly recorded on contract instruction documents and submitted to client for authorisation.
- Maintain accurate record systems including filing, ensuring that all records are clear and precise. provide management information as and when required.
- On completion of works ensure that all information for health and safety file is made available to the contracts manager.
- On completion of works assist in the completion of a quality assessment of sub-contractors’ performance and assist in the completion of contract performance assessment sheet covering the following:
- financial performance
- sub-contractor performance
- review health and safety file for compliance
Essential skills and qualification
- Knowledge and experience with fire alarms, fire doors and emergency lighting
- Confident experience in managing projects
- General managerial experience
- General knowledge and experience with brickwork/masonry/repairs/timber repairs/roofing/redecorating

- A DBS check will be carried out on your behalf at the companies expense

- Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 17:00pm
